EQ: How can an electrician best wire a house when remodeling?

Answer 2: By having permits/licenses and following guidelines for residential wiring.

1. If wiring is done poorly a city inspector can force the residence to either fix the rewiring job or not enter the building. This can cause companies and homeowners problems. An example is my mentor had to get permits to place a circuit in his backyard.

2. When remodeling/rewiring work (I put them together because they are usually done together. Even if not, rewiring still requires tearing down of walls.) is being done permits from the city before hand to even begin the work is needed. If work is done before without city permission then there can be consequences. My aunt had fixed her garage to be a room for her son so he can have his own room, but she didn't get permission from the city so when a city inspector came by my aunt was forced to revert it back to a garage because she didn't even try to get the permits.

3. If a house has bad wiring and isn't up to standard then not only will price of the house fall because it is below standards, and it will also be harder to sell. This is not good for any home owner. An example could be if a home has a messed up circuit in the bathroom so the light won't turn on and if a hair dryer is plugged in, it probably wouldn't turn on. Not even a curling iron or hair straightener. These appliances typically take up a lot of energy already so having bad circuits won't help.
